Continuing from the earlier version of the “Names” series, I have created the transparent business card artwork. By etching the official translated name and preferred name on the opposite sides of the clear acrylic business card, I investigate the complex nature of this hybrid identity. The two names on the opposite sides are not separated from each other; they are part of the others. The names are affected by those on the opposite side, and the familiarity of the language and culture influences their recognizability.
